Mt Doug Neighbourhood Overview
Mt Doug offers something for everyone with a multitude of serene municipal parks to rugged landscapes for an active lifestyle. It is bounded on the north by Cordova Bay Beach, to the east by Gordon Head and Lambrick Park, on the south by McKenzie Avenue and on the west by the Blenkinsop Valley.
The neighbourhood lends to all demographics with some town homes, but mostly single family homes, often with larger lots.
Mt Doug is ecologically diverse with the protected Garry Oak meadows and Douglas Fir forests at Mt Doug Regional Park, the beach and shore of Haro Strait, and the agricultural fields, just adjacent, in the Blenkinsop Valley.
What We Love
Spending a day hiking the trails of Mt Doug Park, bird watching along the way to the summit to see the amazing views of Greater Victoria, Haro Straight and Downtown Victoria. Descend to the Mt Doug Beach, which is one of our favourite picnic spots, just before tee-off time at Mount Douglas Golf Course. Then a quick bike ride to a farm stand on Blenkinsop Road for dinner produce and fresh flowers. We can’t forget about the lecture series and concerts that are really close by at UVic!
